Important Note! Scouts who wish to Participate in the District Canoeing Campout on the Little Tennessee River on May 16-17 MUST first pass the Boy Scout Swimming Test. So far I know that Will, Sam and Vance have passed. If your scout has not, please contact Mark (mtyson@gmail.com) so that we can arrange a swimming test at the Ginger Lynn Welch complex before the trip. The swim test is described in the First Class section of the Scout Book - the Scout must swim 75 yards (3 laps of the pool) using one of several possible strokes, and then the final 25 yards (1 lap) using backstroke. Then, they must demonstrate floating.
If any Scouts need to pass the 2nd or 1st Class swim requirements, also let Mark know, so that we can incorporate that along with the Swimming Test.

Boy Scout Troop 905
Located in Cherokee, North Carolina, Troop 905 typically meets on Thursday evenings from 6-7:30 pm at the Cherokee Youth Center located at 1570 Acquoni Rd, on the Cherokee Reservation (Eastern Band of Cherokee Nation).
Troop 905 is a member of the Daniel Boone Council, Cataloochee District. We are also members of the American Indian Scouting Association. We are a high adventure Troop with an emphasis on hiking and camping.
Troop 905 welcomes all Scouts, not just members of the Eastern Band of Cherokee.
